Thursday, December 24, 2009 at 12:44 PM I've had this app for awhile and only used it once. Now, however, I may open the puppy up a bit more...
Via Mashable:
We knew it was coming, but Qik’s live-streaming iPhone app has finally made its way into Apple’s iTunes App Store.
You can grab the new app now — Qik Live — and start immediately streaming video live to the web from any version of the iPhone (iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS) over 3G or Wi-Fi.
The new edition offers essentially the same functionality as the version Qik built for jailbroken phones, so users are always one tap away from streaming video and editing video details like privacy, title, tags and chat settings.

Via Crunchpad Fans:
Straight from the sounds of the tweets, a Youtube video of the CrunchPad prototype unboxing has been spotted.
Loic Le Meur, the Seesmic.com founder who has close ties with Michael Arrington, posted the video of what looks like the earlier prototype which came in red plastic shown in April. There are no logos shown on it which are found on the new launch prototype released two weeks ago. I have contacted Loic to confirm the date of the video.
However, one thing to note is that it has a Bing.com sticker on the back, and TechCrunch recently received a bunch of them. This would suggest that video was also shot recently, however the TechCrunch team didn’t have the launch prototype ready to show off yet.
When the gentlemen in the video was asked “When will you have it out”, he answered “By this year for sure.”

SprintCam V3 HD is the only HD native fully integrated ultra slow-motion system for broadcast, offering unmatched frame rates and high definition native resolution image quality. The system allows the user to capture from 500 to 1,000 frames per second and to replay them without delay ! Thus 20 to 40 times slower than usual speed, with HD native resolution image quality!
This new technology has applications in live sports and other live TV productions, but also in the production of commercials, documentaries, and movies.
Here are some of the major advantages:
(1) High definition image quality
(2) Unmatched capture speed : up to 1,000 fps in HD!
(3) Instant replay, with HD-SDI output
(4) Full HD native broadcast integration solution
(5) Unmatched light sensitivity of the HD camera
(6) No training needed for cameraman, video engineer.
The camera control unit and the camera are interfaced with a SMPTE standard fiber optic cable with LEMO connectors, with a max distance of 1,000m between both components (FISCHER or TAJIMI options are available).
The SprintCam V3 HD can be used alone (the sequence of images that has been captured can be directly live broadcasted), with an EVS LSM server (the sequence that has been captured is then stored on a EVS® LSM® server for a later use), or with any SDI recorder.
The video above was taken with the SprintCam V3HD at the NAB Show 2009 in Las Vegas.

Via Esquire:
From bed to bathing suit, spend a day with Transformers star Megan Fox in this film shot for Esquire by Greg Williams on the Red One camera. Get the full story and portfolio in Esquire's June issue, on sale May 10.
Captured on the cutting-edge 4K RedOne video camera (that's a frame resolution of 4096 x 2304, or 9.4 megapixels), the images in the magazine are all sourced from this camera, which is blazing trails in the magazine industry. Say goodbye to traditional SLR photography and say hello to the new millenium. That is, watching super crispy, live-action stick models; maybe they'll even capture one in its native habitat, and potentially watch while they enjoy a crouton and water!

I predict that QR Code will be the next big wave of advertising in the US (it's already immensely popular in Japan). The 2D barcode can be read using software or an app on your phone, and will take you to a web address stored within the code (or provide other information such as SMS texts). Similar to a traditional barcode, these "hardlinks" are able to hold a rediculous amount of data, but are better because images or pictures can be embedded within the code (such as the picture above, which will take you to the homepage of the Carbon Rabbit blog). All you need is to download a reader to your cell phone. The best is BeeTagg, which can be downloaded by going to the following link on your phone (for a list of supported devices, click here):
http://get.beetagg.com
Most phones only allow you to take a picture of the QR Code, but some (and am guessing the upcoming video-enabled iPhone) allow for real-time scanning using the phone's video camera.
Also check out BeQRious to generate some of your own QR Code in basic, social, or graphic formats. Oh, and if you see one of our QR Code stickers on the streets, take a pic and follow the link, you just may win some free gear!
